Long Live Loch Linnhe was established in January 2023, launching a campaign to halt the proposed siting of a Mega Fish Farm and Industrial site on a stretch of unspoilt coastline between Appin and Duror on Loch Linnhe. Such a proposal, if successful, would have the potential to have an extremely negative, and possibly catastrophic impact on the surrounding marine and coastal area.
We have a facebook (Long Live Loch Linnhe) page, website (www.longlivelochlinnhe.org.uk) and growing supporters’ database for disseminating information. We are in contact with several other organisations and campaign groups around the world, most notably in Norway, Chile, Iceland and Canada, as we all face the same challenges and through this network we are sharing and constantly updating our research.
Our ultimate aim is to ensure that this mega farm proposal should never go ahead, whilst putting pressure on the government to impose a moratorium on any further expansion or addition to the fish farms already located in Loch Linnhe.
