Vote for Arran’s community marine learning centre!

Coastal communities network member COAST (the community of Arran Seabed Trust), are in the midst of creating a community-led marine learning hub from their new base at the old pavilion on the shores of Lamlash Bay.

The centre will reconnect people of all generations with the sea, by running a programme of volunteer training, workshops, citizen science projects, outdoor activities and events in 2018.  Over 5000 people will be engaged with the new centre and it will be a true collaboration of local organisations, schools, volunteers and visitors.

The Aviva Community Fund

Coast are seeking support from the Aviva community Fund to allow them to bring this space to life – bringing in the equipment and expertise that the community needs to open the centre to the public in spring 2018.  Projects with the most votes from their supporters go through to the final stage of the competition for their chance to be granted funds for their community project.  Voting is now open until 21st November online .
