CCN Advisory Group

Every year CCN selects an Advisory Group, formed of individuals from the wider membership. The main purpose of the Advisory Group is to provide advice and guidance on the strategic direction of CCN, its priorities, and to provide technical input on local and other matters of relevance to CCN members.

Fauna & Flora International (FFI)

Alan joined as CCN Coordinator in 2022 and provides a secretariat role for the Adivsory Group. Alan has a BSc Ecological Science from University of Edinburgh and a MRes in Coastal and Marine Management. He is passionate about ensuring community and other voices are heard in marine decision making in Scotland. In his spare time Alan is also involved in climate justice campaigning.

Áine Purcell-Milton

COAST

Áine took up the position of Executive Director at COAST at the start of 2022. She has an MRes in Marine Ecosystem Management from St Andrews. She has come from a career in coastal community engagement and environmental education from various Irish and UK NGOs. She is a keen water sports enthusiast and you’re most likely to find her in or under the water.

Dennis Archer

Dennis lives in Oban and was for five years co-convenor of Argyll & Bute Branch of the Scottish Greens. As a member of several CCN community groups all the way from Arran to Wester Ross, he has been campaigning actively to protect the marine environment for several years now. He is specially concerned about finfish farming and bottom-contacting fishing gear in inshore waters.

South Skye Seas initative

Eileen lives on the Isle of Skye. After various voluntary roles in the south Skye community, she now mainly focuses on the marine environment, where she supports community monitoring, outreach to local primary schools and other marine-related activities. She recognises the importance of marine conservation, but also the development of sustainable aquaculture which would provide economic benefit to coastal communities. She is an active member of the South Skye Seas initiative and a Trustee of Skye & Lochalsh Environment Forum
